Tejas Mk1A squadron receives indigenous Swayam Raksha Kavach EW suite, enhancing defense capabilities.
India’s defense capabilities received a significant boost with the integration of the indigenously developed Swayam Raksha Kavach Electronic Warfare suite into the second batch of 97 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk1A fighters, contracted for Rs 62,370 crore with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. This advanced system enhances the aircraft’s survivability against radar threats, replacing foreign technology and emphasizing India’s self-reliance in defense avionics. The suite features a state-of-the-art Radar Warning Receiver and an Advanced Self-Protection Jammer, underscoring a commitment to indigenous development with over 64% local content. This initiative not only strengthens operational capabilities but also heralds a new era of technological independence in India’s defense sector, pivotal for maintaining strategic superiority in contested airspace.
