Amit Shah urges Naxals to surrender for rehabilitation, rejecting talks.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has firmly rejected the idea of negotiations with Naxals, urging them to embrace the government’s attractive surrender and rehabilitation policy. Speaking at the ‘Bastar Dussehra Lokotsav’ in Jagdalpur, Shah emphasized a deadline of March 31, 2026, for the eradication of Naxalism, asserting that ongoing violence hinders development in the region. He highlighted the government’s substantial investment of over Rs 4 lakh crore in Chhattisgarh, aimed at improving infrastructure and living conditions in tribal areas. Shah called for those misled by Naxalism to abandon violence and join the mainstream, reinforcing the government’s commitment to provide essential services and restore rights to the local populace, thereby marking a critical step towards peace and development in the insurgency-affected Bastar region.
