Leh violence inquiry to wrap up within four weeks, ensuring transparency.

A magisterial inquiry into the September 24 violence in Leh, which resulted in four fatalities and numerous injuries, is set to conclude within four weeks. Ordered by the Leh deputy commissioner, the inquiry aims to investigate the circumstances surrounding the police action and subsequent unrest, following a shutdown called by the Apex Body Leh to press for statehood and constitutional safeguards for Ladakh. Sub Divisional Magistrate Nubra Mukul Beniwal, appointed as the inquiry officer, encourages public participation to ensure a transparent investigation. This incident highlights the ongoing tensions in Ladakh regarding governance and local autonomy, underscoring the importance of addressing regional demands to maintain stability and peace in this strategically significant area.
