DRDO Develops Multiple Kill Vehicle to Strengthen Missile Defense
India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is advancing its ballistic missile defense capabilities with the development of the Multiple Kill Vehicle (MKV) system, designed to intercept complex Multiple Independently Targetable Reentry Vehicle (MIRV) missile attacks. This innovative technology involves a single interceptor launching multiple autonomous kill vehicles to target incoming warheads, thereby increasing the likelihood of neutralizing threats amidst potential decoys. The MKV system represents a significant enhancement in India’s defense infrastructure, crucial for maintaining strategic deterrence in a region where adversaries are advancing their missile capabilities. Successful implementation will position India among a select group of nations equipped to counter such sophisticated threats.
