Rajnath Singh launches new publications for defense financial transparency
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a series of new publications aimed at enhancing transparency and strengthening the institutional capacity of the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) on October 1, 2025, during the 278th Annual Day celebration of the Defence Accounts Department in New Delhi. This initiative forms part of the Ministry of Defence’s Year of Reforms efforts to modernize and improve service delivery within the department. The launches underscore a commitment to modernization, greater transparency, and stronger support for the Defence Services. Singh also presented the Raksha Mantri Awards for Excellence 2025, recognizing outstanding contributions by CGDA officials to key reforms and projects. A significant focus is on the System for Pension Administration-Raksha (SPARSH), which has onboarded approximately 31.5 lakh of the total 32 lakh defence pensioners, enabling direct credit of pensions into bank accounts. Supporting outreach programs and pension grievance redressal efforts further reflect the government’s dedication to veterans and efficient pension management, reinforcing India’s strides in transparent and effective defence financial administration.
