Nagpur to Become First Rafale Jet Production Hub Outside France
Nagpur is set to become the first city outside France to produce Rafale jets in a full assembly capacity, marking a significant advancement in India’s defense manufacturing capabilities. The facility, a joint venture between Dassault Aviation and Reliance ADA Group, aims to manufacture up to two Rafales per month, fulfilling urgent Indian Air Force requirements and boosting export potential, particularly to countries like Indonesia. The production is expected to begin within three years, with a localization goal of 60% to reduce costs and support India’s defense self-reliance. This development not only enhances India’s strategic aerospace footprint but also positions Nagpur as a key hub for technological advancement and job creation in the region, thereby strengthening the broader defense ecosystem.
