Tiger Division GOC briefs J-K LG on flood relief efforts

Maj Gen Mukesh Bhanwala, General Officer Commanding of the Tiger Division, met with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to discuss the Indian Army’s ongoing humanitarian relief efforts in flood-affected areas under Operation Rahat. The operation has successfully conducted 82 missions, deploying 59 Army columns and 17 Engineer Task Forces, rescuing over 6,000 civilians and 300 paramilitary personnel. The Army’s swift response has included medical assistance, essential supply delivery, and infrastructure restoration, including the construction of a Bailey bridge on the Tawi River and the use of drones for aid drops. This commitment underscores the Indian Army’s pivotal role in disaster relief, bolstering civil-military relations and enhancing national resilience in times of crisis.
