Terrorism and Counterterrorism

Arrest of logistics provider linked to Pahalgam attack confirmed.

In a significant development, Jammu and Kashmir authorities arrested Mohammad Kataria, a logistics provider linked to the terrorists behind the April 22 Pahalgam attack that resulted in 26 fatalities. This arrest follows a thorough forensic investigation during Operation Mahadev, where three terrorists were neutralized. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is probing a complex funding network connected to The Resistance Front, a proxy for Lashkar-e-Taiba, with ties to foreign accounts, particularly in Malaysia. This operation aims to compile a detailed dossier on the terror outfit, crucial for targeting Pakistan at the Financial Action Task Force, thereby seeking to counter its role in supporting terrorism in India. This action underscores India’s commitment to dismantling terror financing networks and enhancing national security.
