Nine militants arrested in Manipur; weapons and ₹39 crore meth seized.
In a significant operation across Manipur, the Army and Assam Rifles, in collaboration with local police, apprehended nine militants linked to various insurgent groups and seized a substantial cache of weapons and narcotics. The joint efforts led to the recovery of 36 firearms, including rifles and pistols, alongside 13 kg of methamphetamine valued at over Rs 39 crore, suspected to be smuggled from Myanmar. This operation underscores the security forces’ commitment to restoring peace in Manipur, particularly in the context of heightened militancy and drug trafficking in the region. The ongoing vigilance and area domination strategies, including the establishment of numerous checkpoints, reflect a proactive approach to countering threats and maintaining stability along the sensitive border.
