India and Morocco Enhance Defence Ties with MoU Signing
On September 22, 2025, during his official visit to Morocco, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Moroccan counterpart Abdeltif Loudiyi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral defence cooperation. The MoU outlines a comprehensive framework for collaboration in areas such as counter-terrorism, maritime security, cyber defence, military training, joint exercises, and capacity building. This agreement reflects the shared strategic interests of both nations and aims to bolster their defence capabilities. As part of this initiative, Minister Singh announced the establishment of a new Defence Wing at the Indian Embassy in Rabat, underscoring India’s commitment to strengthening ties with Morocco. Additionally, the visit highlighted India’s defence manufacturing prowess, with the inauguration of the first-ever Indian defence manufacturing plant in Africa by Tata Advanced Systems in Berrechid, Morocco.
