ICGS Adamya, First of Eight Patrol Vessels, Commissioned in Odisha
The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Adamya, the first of eight Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessels, was commissioned at Paradip Port, Odisha, on September 19, 2025. Designed and built by Goa Shipyard Limited, this 51-meter vessel exemplifies India’s commitment to self-sufficiency with over 60% indigenous content, enhancing maritime security. Adamya, meaning “indomitable,” will operate under the ICG Region (North East) and is equipped with advanced features including Controllable Pitch Propellers, a 30 mm CRN 91 gun, and an Integrated Bridge System. This commissioning underscores India’s resolve to ensure safe and secure maritime environments, reinforcing its strategic maritime interests amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
