IAF to Upgrade Rafale Fleet to F4.1 Standard Locally
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to locally upgrade its Rafale fleet from the 3FR to the advanced F4.1 standard, enhancing combat capabilities and ensuring operational uniformity. Key improvements include an upgraded AESA radar for superior range and target discrimination, along with a revamped electronic warfare suite that enhances survivability. The F4.1 variant will also integrate advanced munitions and improve connectivity for network-centric operations. This initiative not only maximizes the potential of the existing 36 Rafales but also paves the way for the upcoming procurement of 114 additional jets, reinforcing India’s air dominance strategy well into the 2040s and showcasing a commitment to indigenous capabilities in defense.
