COAS urges swift land acquisition and youth recruitment in Arunachal
Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi emphasized the urgent need for expedited land acquisition in Arunachal Pradesh to enhance defense infrastructure and called for increased recruitment of local youth into the armed forces. During a meeting with Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik (Retd), he highlighted the importance of establishing Zilla Sainik Boards to support ex-servicemen and their families. Parnaik underscored a collaborative approach to the Vibrant Village Programme, commending the Army’s community engagement and initiatives like pre-recruitment training for youth and support for Sainik Schools. This reflects a strategic commitment to bolster national security while fostering development and local empowerment in the border region, showcasing the Army’s dual role in defense and community upliftment.
