Vimana Launches India's First VTOL Tailsitter UAV, Narsimha

Vimana, a Pilani-based aerospace company, has launched India’s first Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) Tailsitter UAV, named Narsimha (VIMANA NS-1200), marking a significant advancement in indigenous drone technology. This innovative UAV integrates AI-driven autonomy and a modular design, suitable for diverse missions from surveillance to disaster response, and boasts a range exceeding 50 km with speeds up to 120 km/h. The NS-1200 emphasizes sustainability with its hybrid electric propulsion system, aligning with India’s push for eco-conscious technology. This development not only enhances the capabilities of the Indian defense forces but also positions Vimana as a vital contributor to India’s growing drone market, which is projected to reach $1.5 billion by 2030, reflecting the nation’s dedication to self-reliance in aerospace.
