Indian Army and IAF Join Forces to Develop Indigenous ASM for UAVs

The Indian Army and Indian Air Force are collaborating on the indigenous development of a cutting-edge Air-to-Surface Missile (ASM) designed for High-Altitude Long-Endurance (HALE), Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE), and Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs). This lightweight missile, weighing 10-15 kg, features advanced capabilities such as dual seeker modes for high-precision targeting, a range of up to 20 km, and the ability to engage various targets including armored vehicles and bunkers. This initiative significantly strengthens India’s defense capabilities while aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, showcasing the nation’s commitment to self-reliance in defense technology amid evolving security challenges.
