DRDO Develops Stealth Fabric for Snowy Battlefield Operations
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has initiated a project to develop a multi-functional conductive fabric aimed at enhancing soldier stealth and survivability in snow-bound and high-altitude terrains. This innovative fabric disrupts detection by advanced surveillance technologies like thermal imagers and infrared sensors, critical for Indian Army operations along the Line of Actual Control with China and the Line of Control with Pakistan. The project emphasizes collaboration with the Indian defense industry under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, ensuring integration with existing military clothing while addressing challenges posed by extreme weather, thereby significantly advancing India’s self-reliance in defense technology.
