IAF's Strategy to Boost Fighter Squadrons Against China-Pak Threats

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is addressing its dwindling fighter squadron strength, currently at 31, by proposing a multi-faceted strategy involving the acquisition of additional Rafale jets, Su-57 fighters, fast-tracking Tejas production, and developing the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). This comprehensive plan aims to enhance air power against China and Pakistan while promoting self-reliance through the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The integration of diverse fighter jets presents logistical challenges, yet it strategically diversifies India’s defense partnerships and strengthens indigenous capabilities, ensuring long-term air dominance and operational effectiveness in a complex geopolitical landscape.
