The DRDO has initiated a project under its Technology Development Fund (TEDF) to develop indigenous Stage-1 rotor blades for Low-Pressure Compressors in aero engines, aiming to enhance India’s capabilities in critical aerospace components. This endeavor focuses on reducing dependence on foreign suppliers while promoting domestic manufacturing and innovation, particularly among Indian industries, academia, and start-ups. The project is pivotal for achieving self-reliance in aero engine technology, potentially lowering costs and bolstering national security by retaining control over essential technologies.
