Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is set to enhance India’s submarine-building capabilities through collaboration with the Indian Navy’s Submarine Design Group (SDG) for the Project-76 SSK submarines, which will leverage the indigenous SOV-500 midget submarine design. This initiative underscores India’s commitment to self-reliance and modernization of its naval forces, aiming to produce six advanced submarines within ten years. The focus on high local content will not only reduce dependence on foreign suppliers but also drive job creation and technological innovation in the defense sector.
