India Proposes 114 Rafale Jets with 60% Local Production

India is set to enhance its air defense capabilities with a proposed acquisition of 114 Made in India Rafale fighter jets, valued at over Rs 2 lakh crore, in collaboration with Dassault Aviation. Emphasizing self-reliance, over 60% of the jets’ components will be locally produced under the Make in India initiative. This deal, the largest in Indian defense history, follows the previous procurement of 36 Rafale jets and aims to bolster the Indian Air Force’s operational capabilities while promoting domestic defense manufacturing, job creation, and technological advancements. The proposal is currently under review by the Defence Ministry and will undergo further deliberations before final approval.
