Denmark Lifts Export Restrictions for TEJAS MK-1A Propulsion System
Denmark has reversed export restrictions on a critical propulsion system for the TEJAS MK-1A jets, following India’s diplomatic efforts, enabling the resumption of deliveries of the essential charge amplifier. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) faced production risks due to limited stocks but is now also pursuing local production to enhance self-reliance. The Indian Air Force’s order of 83 TEJAS MK-1A fighters is crucial, with deliveries now expected to commence in October 2025. Additionally, the Indian government has approved an order for 97 more aircraft, reflecting confidence in the indigenous program despite past delays and supply chain challenges. This development promises renewed momentum for India’s defense capabilities.
