Indra and Tata Advanced Systems launch India's first Lanza Naval Radar.

The Lanza-N 3D Air Surveillance Radar system was successfully delivered and commissioned aboard an Indian Navy warship by Indra, in collaboration with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL). This marks the first deployment of this advanced naval radar outside Spain. The radar, seamlessly integrated with the ship’s combat and surveillance systems, underwent rigorous sea trials successfully detecting a range of aerial and naval threats including drones, supersonic aircraft, and anti-radiation missiles. Capable of long-range, three-dimensional tactical surveillance, it has a detection range up to 254 nautical miles and altitude coverage of 100,000 feet, rotating fully every 10 seconds. TASL has established a dedicated assembly, integration, and testing facility in Karnataka to support ongoing production for Indian Navy frigates, destroyers, and aircraft carriers. This achievement represents a significant milestone in India’s defense self-reliance, showcasing enhanced localization in system integration and assembly while boosting India’s naval operational capabilities.
