Bengaluru-based SSS Defence has significantly expanded its global presence by supplying advanced sniper rifles to three countries in Central Europe, while planning to enter two additional Asian markets. This development highlights the company’s growing reputation as a reliable exporter of sophisticated defense equipment, supporting India’s Make in India initiative aimed at boosting self-reliance in defense manufacturing. SSS Defence, which developed its acclaimed .338 Lapua Magnum caliber sniper rifles like the Saber and Viper, has also secured contracts worth nearly $50 million for ammunition supplies from multiple friendly nations. Since 2024, the company has successfully completed its initial export orders to friendly countries and continues talks with several others, reflecting increased trust in India’s indigenous defense technology. The rifles are noted for their precision, reliability, and adaptability for modern warfare, capable of hitting targets beyond 1,500 meters. This success marks a milestone in India’s defense industry as it transitions from an importer to a key global player in small arms exports, enhancing its strategic autonomy and defense manufacturing credibility.
