76-Year-Old Veteran Completes Arctic Expedition and Plunge

A 76-year-old retired Indian Army officer, Lt. Col. (Retd) O.P.N. Kalyan, recently fulfilled a lifelong ambition by completing an expedition to the North Pole and the Arctic, during which he also undertook a Polar Plunge in the Arctic Ocean. The expedition, aboard the ship Polar Quest, took place from August 22 to September 1, 2025, amidst extreme cold weather with temperatures around two degrees Celsius. Kalyan, who previously visited Antarctica, described the experience as fulfilling and highlighted the continuous sunlight during the cruise. This endeavor showcases the enduring spirit and adventurous nature of veterans, reflecting positively on their contributions and legacy.
