IAF and HAL Upgrade Hawk Mk132 Fleet for Advanced Pilot Training

The Indian Air Force (IAF) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) are collaborating to modernize the Hawk Mk132 fleet by integrating advanced avionics and features to align with next-generation fighter training requirements. This upgrade will enhance training capabilities for operating modern combat platforms like Rafale and Tejas Mk2, and includes improvements like indigenous mission computers, synthetic training systems, and expanded armament options. The modernization aims to keep the Hawk fleet relevant, reduce costs, and improve pilot readiness for complex missions, thus strengthening India’s air combat training infrastructure as it transitions to more advanced aerial technologies.
