Tejas Mk-1A to conduct missile tests this month before IAF handover

The Tejas Mk-1A, an advanced variant of the Light Combat Aircraft, is set for full weapons integration trials, including tests of the Astra BVR missile and ASRAAM, before being handed over to the Indian Air Force (IAF). This month, the Tejas Mk-1A will validate its capabilities by testing two missiles and a laser-guided bomb, crucial for enhancing India’s aerial combat capabilities. The successful integration of the ELM-2052 AESA radar and these advanced munitions showcases India’s ability to develop and operationalize indigenous defense technologies, bolstering the IAF’s strength as it faces a shortfall in fighter squadrons. This progress exemplifies India’s commitment to modernizing its defense forces.
