India-Thailand Joint Military Exercise MAITREE-XIV Begins in Meghalaya
The 14th edition of the India-Thailand joint military exercise MAITREE-XIV commenced on September 1, 2025, at the Joint Training Node in Umroi, Meghalaya. This two-week exercise, involving 120 Indian Army personnel from the Madras Regiment and 53 Royal Thai Army personnel, focuses on company-level counter-terrorist operations in semi-urban terrains. It aims to enhance cooperation and interoperability between the two armies, culminating in a validation exercise that simulates realistic operational scenarios.
