Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh officially assumed charge as the Vice Chief of Army Staff on July 31, 2025, marking a major milestone in his 38-year military career. Commissioned into the 4th Battalion of the Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) in 1987, Singh has played key leadership roles in operations such as Pawan, Meghdoot, Rakshak, Orchid, and Snow Leopard. Prior to this appointment, he served as Director General Operational Logistics & Strategic Movement at Army Headquarters. Recognized for his operational acumen, Singh brings a wealth of experience from commanding units along the Line of Control and in critical border regions like Jammu and Pathankot. His distinguished service is highlighted by the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and a Bar to the Sena Medal.
