Oil Minister Puri refutes Navarro's claims on Russian oil profits.

Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has firmly rejected accusations from White House adviser Peter Navarro that India is profiting from Russian oil imports, stating that India’s energy trade has stabilized global markets since the Ukraine war began. Puri emphasized that India’s purchases comply with international norms and that the country has long been a significant exporter of petroleum products. He countered claims of India being a “laundromat” for Russian oil, highlighting that halting imports could spike global prices significantly. Puri’s defense underscores India’s strategic energy diplomacy and adherence to legal frameworks while mitigating potential global supply disruptions.
