India and Bangladesh discuss border security and BSF attacks.
In the recent bi-annual talks between India and Bangladesh, the Border Security Force (BSF) emphasized issues such as attacks on its personnel and the need for a single-row border fence to curb cross-border crimes. This was the first delegation visit after the change in Bangladesh’s government last year. Both nations agreed on collaborative measures to enhance border security, including providing body-worn cameras for BSF personnel to document incidents. The discussions also covered river bank protection and ongoing developmental works, reflecting a mutual commitment to maintain peace along the 4,096 km-long border. The next meeting is scheduled for March 2026 in India, indicating ongoing diplomatic engagement.
