India Approves Talks for Six Submarines with German Support
The Indian government has approved negotiations for Project 75 India, which involves constructing six advanced submarines in collaboration with Germany’s ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems. This project aims to enhance India’s naval capabilities and promote self-reliance in defense manufacturing through the development of indigenous submarine construction with Air Independent Propulsion systems. The Defense Ministry and Mazagon Dockyards Limited are set to begin negotiations soon, with completion expected in six months. This initiative not only strengthens maritime defense but also fosters local industries and job creation, marking a pivotal advancement in India’s defense modernization efforts.
