AMCA's Success to Enable Development of Unmanned Stealth Drones
The success of India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program is seen as pivotal not only for manned aviation but also for the future development of unmanned stealth combat aircraft, as articulated by former IAF Chief R.K.S. Bhadauria. He highlights that technologies from the AMCA, such as low radar cross-section designs and AI capabilities, will facilitate the creation of advanced unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) like the DRDO’s Ghatak. Additionally, the integration of sixth-generation concepts into the AMCA aims to bolster India’s air power, potentially leading to a fully indigenous sixth-generation fighter by 2040, thereby ensuring long-term dominance in air combat capabilities.
