Air India cancels Kathmandu flights amid Nepal's political unrest.

Air India and IndiGo have cancelled flights to Kathmandu amid escalating political unrest in Nepal, following violent protests since September 8 against the government’s ban on major social media platforms. Demonstrations, led by youth and dubbed the Gen Z movement, have resulted in at least 19 fatalities and over 500 injuries, prompting authorities to impose curfews and military orders to maintain order. The situation has led to a political shake-up, with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigning and efforts for dialogue with protest leaders underway. The unrest underscores significant economic frustrations among Nepal’s youth, contributing to a mass exodus seeking employment abroad.
