AFMS conducts over 60 health camps under Swasth Naari initiative
The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has successfully organized over 60 health camps under the Government of India’s Swasth Naari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, benefiting approximately 30,000 women. Launched by the Prime Minister on September 17, 2025, this initiative emphasizes maternal and child health care, screening for non-communicable diseases, and public awareness on crucial health issues, including menstrual hygiene and nutrition. The AFMS, adhering to its motto ‘Sarve Santu Niramaya,’ exemplifies the synergy between military and civilian healthcare, reinforcing the government’s vision of a healthy and empowered society as a cornerstone of Viksit Bharat 2047. This initiative highlights the defense sector’s growing role in national health priorities, particularly in remote areas such as Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast.
