Indian Army Conducts Major Relief Operations in Flood-Hit Areas

The Indian Army has been actively engaged in extensive humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in flood-hit regions of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, conducting 82 missions that have evacuated over 21,000 civilians, including 10,000 in Punjab alone. With the deployment of 126 rescue columns and extensive aerial support, the Army has provided critical medical aid to thousands and restored vital infrastructure by constructing bridges and reinforcing flood defenses. Prime Minister Modi’s upcoming visit underscores the government’s commitment to assess the situation personally. This coordinated effort highlights the Army’s vital role in disaster response, reflecting national resilience and effective crisis management.
