On October 18, 2025, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated a Titanium and Superalloy Materials Plant at PTC Industries in Lucknow, marking a significant step towards India’s self-reliance in critical defense and aerospace materials. This facility, established with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, aims to produce over 6,000 tonnes of aviation-grade materials annually, enhancing India’s technological sovereignty and reducing dependency on foreign imports. The plant supports the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative by fostering innovation and job creation in the UP Defence Industrial Corridor. This development underscores India’s commitment to advancing its defense manufacturing capabilities and signifies a shift toward becoming a global hub for defense technology and production.
