A deep-tech startup from Odisha, Coratia Technologies, has secured a Rs 66-crore contract with the Indian Navy to produce indigenously developed Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (UWROVs) designed for various underwater tasks. This initiative highlights the Navy’s commitment to bolstering India’s defense innovation ecosystem through programs like iDEX. The UWROVs, including the flagship Jalasimha, offer advanced capabilities at lower costs, reducing reliance on foreign technology and enhancing defense preparedness.
