The Indian Navy has successfully inducted its sixth and final 25T Bollard Pull (BP) Tug, named Sabal, at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam. This marks the completion of a contract with Titagarh Rail Systems Limited for six such Tugs, which are designed and built indigenously in compliance with the Indian Register of Shipping standards. These Tugs play a crucial role in aiding naval vessels during berthing and maneuvering in confined waters and enhance the Navy’s capability for afloat firefighting support. The induction underscores India’s commitment to strengthening its maritime capabilities through domestic production and innovation in defense technologies.
