Indian Army to establish 19 drone training centers post Op Sindoor.
The Indian Army is set to establish 19 drone training centres across premier training establishments, including the Indian Military Academy and Infantry School, to integrate drone operations into the standard training curriculum. This initiative follows Operation Sindoor and aims to enhance UAV capabilities with nearly 1,000 drones to be procured for various training purposes by January 2026. The Army Training Command’s roadmap indicates that all soldiers will be trained in drone operations by 2027, reflecting a significant organizational shift towards advanced aerial capabilities. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh views this development as a potential game changer, reinforcing India’s strategic defense posture.
