The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully transferred three advanced materials technologies to industry partners, enhancing India’s self-reliance in defense. These technologies include high-strength radomes for missile systems, DMR-1700 steel sheets for various defense applications, and DMR 249A HSLA steel plates for naval use. This initiative, facilitated by the Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), aims to foster industry-research partnerships and accelerate technological innovations critical for national security. The collaboration underscores India’s commitment to developing indigenous capabilities and supporting key defense programs, ensuring rapid scaling and deployment of these advancements in the defense sector.
